about us

The Foundation in his honor was established with the goal of providing mentoring and scholarships for outstanding youth to pursue higher education.

The Board of the CBIV Legacy for Life Foundation

The CBIV Legacy for Life Foundation was established in honor of nineteen (19) year old Cecil W. Bond IV of Middletown, Delaware. Cecil was a gifted and athletically talented young man, who lost his life tragically to gun violence in July 2013. The “Foundation” in his honor was established with the goal of providing scholarships for outstanding youth to pursue higher education. The scholarships will support visionary leaders of today who display exceptional promise for tomorrow.

A second goal of the “Foundation” is to provide mentoring to High School students about the issues of “responsible decision making” through seminars, forums, videos and other educational programs. During mentoring, the plan is to discuss issues that the youth face today such as the appropriate usage of “social media”, bullying, the consequences of drinking and driving, the effects of illegal drugs, and peer pressure.

The “CBIV Legacy for Life Foundation” hopes to be on the frontline of teenage and young adult education and empowerment and career preparation.
